Does Having Hair On Your Face Cause Acne?

I haven’t exactly got amazing skin, but i haven’t got acne.
I get spots yeah, but they’re never amazingly tragic, nothing some concealer & my confidence cant fix.
But;
having just read a question, about having a hairstyle that leaves hair falling on your face can make acne worse, i’m left wondering why?
and how?
I love my hair, but as i’m maturing & my skin is getting better, i don’t want my hair to ruin it?
is it true?

    it can, the oil from your hair can cause break-outs.

    You can. The oils in your hair (increased if you use lots of product or have naturally oily hair) will sink into your skin & cause pimples/blackheads.

    yes it can because the oils form ur hair mix with your face & then cause brakout too form because of the clogging of the pores that happens.

    It has to do with how clean you keep your face. I had very long hair & my acne was minimal. I would wash my face about 2 time a day & this is the key. Keeping your face clean. Your hair also helps if you keep it washed daily. You should not have problems. Acne for some is worse than others & it doesn’t seem to matter what they do. It is a skin problem.

    It can considering your hair may be oily or dirty. Oil & dirt clog the pores so you develop acne bumps. Ever notice someone’s forehead that wear bangs all the time they have black marks or small abrasions. All signs that they had an acne breakout

    It’s not hair or oil that causes acne – it’s bacteria.
    Having dirty skin will increase the likelyhood of bacteria taking up residence, which will cause more blemishes, so if you’ve got oily hair touching skin that you don’t wash, you’ll be more likely to get pimples in that area.
    However, if you take care to keep your hair clean & to wash the skin that it touches (ie. your forehead if you’ve got bangs) you shouldn’t have a problem.
    Some people are more prone to acne, they have the right sort of conditions for bacterial infections, & having hair that touches your skin *could* make that worse, but from what it sounds like, you’re not one of those people.
    I have a hairstyle that involves long, asymmetrical bangs, but I take care to ensure that my skin stays clean & that oil doesn’t build up, & I’ve never had a problem with pimples poping up where my hair touches. As a tip, using witch hazel & a cotton ball will keep oil at a minimum in “trouble areas” like your forehead. (Oil being the culprit that traps bacteria inside your pores – it’s still a necessary part of healthy skin though, helps protect it)
    If you’ve got healthy skin, having a bit of hair falling on your face won’t change that, as long as you continue to keep everything clean. (just don’t go overboard, as dry skin is more fragile skin)
    Hope that helps!
